MRD developed a unique and innovative marina layout to accommodate 12+ wet slips for boats up to 70 feet in length along 190 linear feet of shoreline. The “saw-tooth” floating dock configuration was developed to optimize and maximize the available usable area and provide adequate egress and ingress, and safe navigation to the marina. Within this tight site, the facility layout included pre-stressed concrete haul-out piers to accommodate boats up to 65 feet in length and a capacity up to 10- tons in weigh. In addition, a unique boat wash down water recycling system was incorporated in the upland concrete pad to filter out pollutants and reduce water use.

MRD designed the bulkhead, floating dock, full utilities, launch pad and haul-out pier concurrently with the processing of the permits to expedite the bidding and construction of the facility. MRD was responsible for all aspects of obtaining Local, State and Federal permits and authorizations for the proposed marina project which were all obtained within 12 months of submitting the applications. MRD provided bidding, construction administration and close out services. In addition, MRD assisted the Owner in developing a program to apply for and be designated as a Florida “Clean Marina”.
