City of Mexico Beach - Beach Restoration Project

MRD Associates, Inc. and Dewberry Engineers are assisting the City of Mexico Beach and the Bay County Tourist Development Council with Coastal Engineering services to address the destruction of the beach and dune system by Hurricane Michael. The goal of this Task Assignment is to design and permit a beach and dune restoration project extending between the eastside of the Mexico Beach Inlet (DEP Monument V-127.5) and the eastern boundary of the City at R-144. The project may consist of a beach berm, a dune or combination of a beach and dune construction template depending on the condition of the beach and the desired level of storm protection. An offshore sand source will be used to supply the sand for construction of the project.
