MRD Completes Metocean Data Collection Effort in Coastal Alabama
MRD Associates recently completed data collection services using ADCPs to collect wave, tide, and current data to determine the oceanographic climate within coastal Alabama. The data is to be used by a confidential client in design and permitting services. MRD employed the professional services of SEARCH, Inc. to assist in diving operations and installation. With this project, MRD successfully achieved 100% data recovery for both ADCPs and delivered a useful final report summarizing the oceanographic data collected including wave and current parameters. Collection of metocean data can help engineers and planners select appropriate designs and find cost-effective solutions, especially in coastal environments where conditions can vary significantly based on the physical features and water depth along the shoreline.
